We are excited to grow our team in Livonia, Michigan, and we are looking for a talented professional to help us bring complex mechanical concepts to life. We specialize in high-quality manufacturing and structural systems, and we take pride in delivering reliable solutions that meet the exact needs of our customers. If you enjoy working in a hands-on environment where your designs directly impact real-world assembly and manufacturing, we would love to meet you.
What is this role?
We are searching for a Senior SolidWorks Designer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. This is a dedicated design role focused on technical precision rather than traditional engineering. We need someone with at least five years of practical experience who can hit the ground running and manage design projects from the initial concept phase all the way through to final production.
What will you do?
- Create detailed mechanical assemblies and individual components using the SolidWorks CAD platform.
- Manage the full development lifecycle of your designs, including the creation of accurate models and manufacturing prints.
- Integrate standard industry hardware into our mechanical systems while ensuring every component meets our high standards for reliability and ease of assembly.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should be highly proficient in SolidWorks, specifically with its sheet metal and weldment functions. We value team members who can take clear direction, work independently when needed, and collaborate effectively with others. You should also have a strong grasp of the following:
- A solid understanding of manufacturing and assembly processes.
- Experience with structural and mechanical system design.
- Working knowledge of GD&T principles.
- Proficiency in standard office tools like Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Fluency in English to ensure clear communication across our team.
- Hands-on shop experience is considered a significant plus.
What's in it for you?
Joining our team means becoming part of a focused group that values accuracy and professional growth. You will have the opportunity to work on diverse projects that challenge your design skills and allow you to see your work transition from a digital model to a physical product. We provide a collaborative work environment where your contributions to program timing and milestone deliverables are truly recognized and valued.
