Software Engineer AI Product Engineer at Normal Computing AI

At Normal Computing, we are dedicated to building the foundational software and hardware that drive the semiconductor industry and critical AI infrastructure. Our global team operates across New York, San Francisco, Copenhagen, and London to advance the systems that power the modern world. We are currently looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join us in a full-time, on-site capacity as an AI Product Engineer within our Normal EDA division. In this role, you will design and develop the interfaces and workflows that allow hardware engineers to verify the chips powering today's technology, effectively bridging the gap between complex AI capabilities and practical, user-friendly product experiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop integrated prototypes that combine LLMs, backend services, and polished frontend interfaces to create functional, testable production workflows.
• Architect and build interactive user interfaces that simplify complex verification processes for our hardware engineering users.
• Take ownership of the APIs and orchestration patterns that link our frontend applications with ML inference servers and backend infrastructure.

Requirements

• Five to eight years of experience in frontend software engineering, with a proven track record of building sophisticated user experiences.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and React, along with a deep understanding of modern frontend architecture and state management.
• Demonstrated experience working with LLMs or building AI-powered applications, with a keen interest in how model paradigms like agents and simulation methods can augment user workflows.
• A strong intuition for product design and usability, ensuring that every feature shipped meets a high standard of quality.
• The ability to work independently, learn continuously, and thrive in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift rapidly.
• Previous experience as a zero-to-one engineering lead or startup founder is highly valued, as is experience building developer tools or working within the semiconductor industry.
