At Artera, our mission is to make healthcare the industry leader in customer service. We provide a patient communication platform that helps healthcare providers facilitate over one billion messages for more than 40 million patients every year. By unifying disjointed communication touchpoints into a single, intuitive channel, we enable secure, multilingual conversations that result in happier staff and healthier patients. Since our founding in 2015, we have been consistently recognized as a top place to work and one of the fastest-growing private companies in the industry.
The role
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our COMMbucha team on a full-time basis. This team is responsible for developing bulk messaging features that account for roughly 10% of our total message volume. This is a hybrid role, and we are seeking a visionary engineer who is deeply skilled in front-end development while remaining comfortable working across the entire stack. You will be instrumental in driving key projects, establishing front-end best practices, and accelerating our overall product velocity.
Core responsibilities
- Champion front-end excellence by providing technical expertise, guidance, and scalable architecture designs across our engineering department.
- Drive product innovation by acting as a bridge between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring that our technical solutions align with broader product goals.
- Maintain high standards through comprehensive documentation of technical specifications and project milestones to ensure effective knowledge sharing.
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:
- A Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, or equivalent professional experience.
- At least 5 years of experience building web applications in a production environment.
- At least 2 years of production experience specifically with React, including a deep understanding of state management principles.
- Proficiency with testing tools such as Jest and React Testing Library.
- Strong experience with RESTful services and the ability to create reusable, sharable components.
- A proven track record of successful project delivery and cross-functional collaboration.
Bonus points if you have experience with GraphQL, Apollo Client, Material UI, NodeJS, NestJS, or monitoring and alerting systems.
Compensation and benefits
We are committed to supporting our team members both personally and professionally. Our benefits package includes:
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance.
- Equity compensation and 401k participation.
- Life insurance and disability insurance.
- Flexible hours and generous paid time off, including winter and summer breaks.
- Professional development funds and manager development cohorts.
- Access to employee assistance programs and various Employee Resource Groups.
- A hybrid work environment that fosters in-person collaboration.
How to apply
We believe that diversity is a strength and we are dedicated to creating an inclusive workplace where everyone feels they belong. Research shows that underrepresented groups often only apply when they meet every single requirement. We encourage you to apply even if you do not meet 100% of the criteria listed above. We would love to connect with you to see if you are a great fit for our team.
