What you bring

We are seeking a Senior Research Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will bridge the gap between research and applied engineering, focusing on Speech and Natural Language Processing. You will utilize your expertise in AI, Deep Learning, and JAX to maintain our competitive edge. This position is available to candidates located in the USA, Canada, UK, Germany, and Switzerland. Your core responsibilities will include:

• Training large-scale Speech AI models, including multi-modal LLMs and ASR models with billions of parameters.
• Writing and optimizing training code to ensure maximum efficiency and memory utilization on large TPU clusters.
• Collaborating with our technology leadership to define project scopes, prioritize our research agenda, and lead execution.

Requirements

The ideal candidate possesses a strong technical foundation and a creative approach to problem-solving. You should have at least 2 years of professional experience in deep learning research and development, along with hands-on proficiency in JAX, distributed training, and TPU/GPU hardware. We value candidates who have deep expertise in Transformer architectures and other self-supervised learning techniques. You must be a strong communicator in English, capable of sharing complex technical insights across the organization. We are looking for someone who is meticulous, self-motivated, and eager to make a real-world impact through high-quality code and innovative modeling.

What we offer

We are committed to pay equity and offer a competitive salary range of $185,000 to $260,000 for this position. We believe in providing a supportive environment where our team can thrive, which includes the following benefit:
