Senior Product Designer at Backflip

At Backflip, we are on a mission to reshape residential real estate investing for the better. As a venture-backed FinTech startup, we provide entrepreneurs with the technology, data, and capital products they need to renovate single-family homes and reinvigorate their local communities. Our platform serves as an all-in-one ecosystem that helps our users source, analyze, and finance their investments. We are currently a team of about 45 people, and we are looking for passionate individuals who want to help us scale our impact while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

The role

We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a remote position based in the United States where you will report directly to our Chief Product Officer. As a senior member of our design team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our platform, solving complex problems for our customers, and creating intuitive interfaces that make real estate investing accessible to everyone. This is a unique opportunity to join a Series A company at the ground floor and contribute to a product that is actively changing the housing supply landscape.

Core responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design process for new features, moving from initial conceptualization and wireframing to high-fidelity, production-ready UI designs.
• Conduct frequent user research and analyze both qualitative and quantitative data to inform your design decisions and ensure our solutions align with user needs.
• Collaborate closely with our product, engineering, marketing, and operations teams to balance best-in-class user experiences with our broader business objectives and technical feasibility.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications:

• At least 5 years of professional experience as a UX, UI, or Product Designer.
• High proficiency in Figma and familiarity with the Adobe Creative Suite.
• A strong portfolio that clearly demonstrates your design process, including research, ideation, and execution.
• Proven experience designing and validating end-to-end user workflows across multiple platforms, including web, mobile, and desktop applications.
• A history of working within a startup environment where you have demonstrated the ability to work autonomously and adapt to changing priorities.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to articulate design decisions to various stakeholders.
