We are looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our team in a full-time capacity. At Gelato, we have built the world’s largest global network for on-demand production, allowing creators to produce custom items like books, apparel, and wall art locally and sustainably. We do not own physical factories. Instead, we develop the software that connects over 140 production partners across 32 countries, enabling us to deliver goods to five billion people in just 72 hours. Our platform, GelatoConnect, serves as an AI-driven operating system for print production, helping businesses automate their workflows and reduce waste. We are an AI-native company, and we are looking for someone to help us scale our infrastructure as we continue to reshape the print industry.
Responsibilities
- Maintain 24/7 platform operations by participating in on-call rotations and leading incident response efforts.
- Develop and refine AI agents that utilize event-driven logic to automate platform scaling, diagnostics, and system recovery.
- Manage our multi-cloud infrastructure, primarily on AWS, using declarative workflows and automated processes to ensure high reliability and cost-efficiency.
Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of Linux system internals, including networking, memory management, and file systems.
- Proven expertise in managing AWS environments, with additional experience in GCP being a plus.
- Deep understanding of Kubernetes operations, security, and networking.
- Hands-on experience implementing GitOps workflows and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
- Proficiency in Python or Go, along with a comfort level using AI-assisted coding tools like Cursor and Claude.
- A strong interest in or experience with building AI agents and RAG workflows.
