The role

We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. This is a senior-level position that requires a deep technical background in automotive product development. You will take ownership of the mechanical aspects of our electronic modules, with a specific focus on environmental sealing techniques such as laser welding, vibration welding, and gasket design.

Core responsibilities

• Lead the development of mechanical requirements for our automotive electronics, ensuring full compliance with our global engineering processes.
• Oversee the verification of mechanical requirements through rigorous testing at both the component and assembly levels.
• Coordinate the integration of core mechanical components into specific applications while mentoring junior engineers and managing project schedules.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should possess a strong foundation in mechanical design and a passion for solving complex engineering challenges. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• Extensive experience with plastics, aluminum castings, and stampings within the automotive industry.
• Comprehensive knowledge of structural and thermal design methodologies, including first-order analysis and CAE techniques.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and debug mechanical systems using structured problem-solving methods like 8D.
• A deep understanding of the full product development lifecycle, from early design stages through to production launch.
• Strong proficiency in English to facilitate clear communication across our functional teams.
