Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Reserv

We are Reserv, an insurtech founded in 2022 by veterans of SaaS and digital claims. Backed by Bain Capital and Altai Ventures, we build AI and automation tools that simplify insurance claims for TPAs, carriers, and adjusters. As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer joining us full time in a remote capacity, you will shape the technical direction of our data science efforts and help deliver production-grade models that reduce manual work across the claims process.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and integrate machine learning models using Python, AWS services such as Bedrock and SageMaker, Docker, Postgres, and Ruby on Rails, then ship them into customer environments from day one.
• Partner with product management and operations teams to surface high-impact automation opportunities, run experiments, and prioritize initiatives that deliver measurable efficiency gains.
• Mentor junior data scientists, review code for quality and maintainability, and clearly communicate technical trade-offs to cross-functional stakeholders as the team scales.

Requirements

• Eight or more years of hands-on experience as a data scientist, backed by a portfolio of shipped products that demonstrate end-to-end ownership.
• Proven ability to design and execute rigorous experiments, including dataset creation, hypothesis testing, ablation studies, and outcome evaluation.
• Expert-level Python skills with Pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch, plus a strong software-engineering foundation that emphasizes clean, tested, and maintainable code.
• Track record of staying current with state-of-the-art techniques through continuous research and rapid application in production settings.
• Comfort working directly with customers to translate evolving requirements into practical, intuitive solutions while adapting quickly to shifting priorities.
