At Kumo.ai, we are changing how companies interact with their data by building foundation models specifically designed for relational information. Our mission is to empower businesses to make smarter, faster decisions through autonomous, AI-powered agents. We are looking for passionate individuals to help us bridge the gap between complex machine learning research and practical, real-world enterprise applications.
What is this role?
We are seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a senior-level position where you will play a critical role in designing and deploying intelligent agents that assist data scientists in their daily workflows. You will work in a hybrid environment, collaborating with our team in the United States to build the next generation of AI-driven decision-making tools.
What will you do?
- Design and deploy AI-powered agents that help data scientists analyze relational data and automate complex predictive workflows.
- Create user-centric APIs and foundation tools that allow our agents to interact seamlessly with enterprise data systems.
- Build adaptive workflows that enable AI systems to reason over structured data, propose actionable insights, and refine their performance based on human feedback.
What makes you a great fit?
You have a strong background in machine learning and software engineering, with at least three years of experience in the field. You are comfortable working in a fast-paced startup environment where research meets product deployment. Your technical toolkit should include:
- Expertise in deep learning, transformers, and foundation models.
- Hands-on experience with SQL, relational data, and structured reasoning.
- Practical knowledge of vector databases, embeddings, and retrieval-augmented generation.
- Proficiency in languages and frameworks such as Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX.
- A deep understanding of LLM orchestration, task automation, and multi-agent coordination.
- Strong communication skills in English to collaborate effectively with our researchers and product teams.
What's in it for you?
Joining our team means you will be at the forefront of AI-driven innovation, working alongside top researchers and engineers to solve high-impact problems. We offer a supportive culture that values technical excellence and collaboration. Benefits include:
- Hybrid work flexibility.
- Equity compensation to ensure you share in our success.
