We provide a unique car rental service that delivers vehicles to customers with zero hassle and no driver inside. Since our launch in 2018, we have built the world’s first commercial remote driving product and successfully rolled out vehicles on public roads in both Europe and the United States. We are currently looking for a Senior Hardware Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis in Germany. This is a hybrid role where you will own the full lifecycle of mechanical components for our next-generation vehicles and remote drive platforms.
Responsibilities
- Manage the complete lifecycle of mechanical components, including concept development, design, prototype builds, vehicle installation, and final validation.
- Lead the end-to-end process for hardware change requests, ensuring that all Engineering Change Orders are initiated, tracked, and closed successfully.
- Design new mechanical parts and assemblies using CAD software while ensuring they meet high standards for durability, manufacturability, and system integration.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related technical field.
- At least 7 years of professional experience in mechanical design with a strong background in CAD-based component and assembly work.
- Proven experience managing mechanical systems from the initial concept phase through to on-vehicle validation.
- Hands-on experience with prototyping and testing on real hardware, such as vehicles, robotics, or complex machinery.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes, materials, and GD&T standards.
- Proficiency in PLM tools and a strong ability to manage documentation and hardware configurations.
