Role at a glance
We are seeking a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our new Scaled Outreach team. This is a full-time, remote position open to candidates based in the United States. You will be responsible for defining the technical strategy and building a high-performing team tasked with using AI to amplify the reach of citizen-led petitions.
Your impact
- Architect and launch the foundational AI-powered outreach systems that connect high-impact petitions with journalists, media outlets, and civic influencers.
- Build and mentor a high-performing engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence and mission-driven development.
- Drive cross-functional success by partnering with product and leadership teams to define roadmaps that measurably increase media engagement and campaign visibility.
What you'll need
To succeed in this role, you should be a hands-on leader with a strong background in both technical architecture and people management. We are looking for someone who speaks English fluently and brings the following expertise:
- Engineering Leadership: Over 7 years of software engineering experience, including at least 2 years in a management role building and retaining teams.
- Full-Stack & Systems Design: Proficiency in building scalable web applications using React, TypeScript, Node.js, PostgreSQL, and GraphQL.
- AI/ML Integration: Experience prototyping and deploying features powered by LLMs and generative AI tools.
- Product Execution: A proven track record of taking products from 0 to 1 in ambiguous, fast-paced environments.
Perks and compensation
We believe in pay equity and transparency. Our annual salary for this position is determined by location:
- $242,500 USD for candidates in SF or NYC.
- $230,500 USD for candidates in Austin, Boston, Los Angeles, Seattle, DC, or Chicago.
- $206,000 USD for candidates in all other eligible US locations.
In addition to competitive pay, we offer the flexibility of remote work.
