We are looking for a Senior Engineer to join our Data Acquisition team on a full-time basis. At Zus, we operate a shared health data platform founded in 2021 by Jonathan Bush, the former CEO of athenahealth, to accelerate healthcare data interoperability. We partner with health information exchanges and networks to aggregate clinical history, translating complex data into actionable insights for providers at the point of care. Our mission is to empower healthcare innovators by maximizing the value of patient data, and you will play a critical role in collecting, processing, and delivering this information through our platform.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop complex data pipelines to ingest health information from diverse internal and external sources.
- Create and maintain robust microservices that interface with third-party APIs to support our data ecosystem.
- Provide technical leadership by shaping system architecture, mentoring fellow engineers, and collaborating closely with product managers.
Requirements
We are seeking someone who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is passionate about driving a digital revolution in healthcare. You should be comfortable owning your work from design through to production deployment.
- Proven experience building operationally stable and cost-efficient backend software in languages such as Go or NodeJS.
- Practical knowledge of cloud service providers, specifically AWS, along with experience in infrastructure as code or deployment technologies like Terraform or GitHub Actions.
- A collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid setting, whether you are based in the Boston area or working remotely within the EST or CST time zones.
- Strong problem-solving skills and a desire to unify fragmented healthcare data sources.
