Senior Director Marketing at Cogentbiosciences

Cogent Biosciences is a publicly traded biotechnology firm dedicated to creating precision therapies for patients suffering from genetically defined diseases. Our primary clinical program, bezuclastinib, is a selective tyrosine kinase inhibitor designed to target KIT D816V mutations, which drive systemic mastocytosis and advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumors. As we approach our first product launch, we are looking for a Senior Director of Marketing to join our team on a full-time, hybrid basis. This role serves as our internal subject matter expert for Systemic Mastocytosis, where you will lead brand strategy and HCP marketing initiatives to support our mission of delivering transformative treatments to those with high unmet medical needs.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and execution of comprehensive HCP strategic and tactical marketing plans to achieve our business and product objectives.
• Collaborate across internal functions, including sales, medical affairs, and regulatory teams, to ensure all promotional efforts are impactful, compliant, and aligned with our brand goals.
• Manage the HCP marketing budget and external agency partnerships, ensuring that resources are optimized to drive the best possible return on investment.

Requirements

We are seeking an experienced executive with a strong background in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology sectors. You should possess the following qualifications:

• A Bachelor’s degree is required, while an MBA or advanced degree is highly preferred.
• At least 10 years of progressive experience in marketing, sales, or business development, including a minimum of 5 years in brand management with a focus on US commercialization.
• Recent experience, ideally within the last 1 to 3 years, in launching products for rare diseases or oncology.
• Deep knowledge of the Systemic Mastocytosis landscape, including current therapies, biomarkers, and testing practices.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage complex budgets, and communicate effectively with executive leadership.
• Strong project management skills, with the capacity to oversee multiple vendors and agency partners simultaneously.
• This position is based in the Boston, Massachusetts area and requires some travel, up to 25 percent of the time.
