Redwood Credit Union is looking for a Senior Digital Marketing Specialist who will perform a wide variety of marketing efforts for digital/online/mobile and other marketing efforts including project management to support RCU's strategic initiatives. This position is responsible for the execution of a wide variety of marketing and communication efforts such as leading the Redwood Group’s email platform and initiatives, online and mobile marketing efforts, website graphics and marketing content, marketing campaigns, advertising, support of social media efforts, newsletters, events, marketing collateral and retail merchandising for The Redwood Group.
Essential Functions
Online Marketing
• Manages all marketing related website updates including but not limited to the homepage, marketing landing pages, online banking promotions, press releases and the Redwood Credit Union blog.
• Manages and drives the email marketing program for Redwood Credit Union including creation, testing and analysis of all emails, vendor management and best practices.
• Acts as primary email administrator for RCU and its subsidiaries, including ensuring quality email execution using data and email or marketing automation tools and systems. Role includes coding and quality assurance, reporting and monitoring, and supporting other departments with disparate email systems by knowledge sharing.
• Acts as a key driver of the digital brand presence for Redwood Credit Union including internal and external emails, digital (both online and mobile) marketing and communications, alerts, website, and intranet.
• Is a key driver from a marketing perspective of all digital efforts for the Redwood Group including website redesigns, content updates, product functionality and UI/UX design.
• Support the Marketing and Communications & PR Departments in the comprehension and application of digital analytics and metrics to drive success in their marketing programs.
• Acts as primary liaison to the Remote Delivery Department for marketing-related online efforts including monthly meetings to keep both departments appraised of future developments.
• Support the Remote Delivery Department in execution of digital efforts including the facilitation of graphical needs and testing user experience for improvements.
• Owns the portion of the annual Marketing calendar that reflects the flight schedule of all online and mobile channels and updates regularly to ensure calendar is accurate at all times.
• Stays abreast of SEM landscape, search engine trends and best practices. Shares updates and trends with Management and staff, recommends improvements and implements approved changes.
• Identifies and tests new marketing opportunities to drive user engagement as it relates to lead generation, customer acquisition and conversion. Familiarity in A/B multivariant testing.
• Reviews and reports online and social media best practices, reporting systems and tools, and makes recommendations for enhancements.
Department Support
• Acts as a primary project manager and coordinator for promotions and projects. In this role, is responsible for developing and communicating marketing program description plans and executing projects.
• Drive the marketing efforts that support the Information Technology and Remote Delivery Departments in their goals of increasing adoption and usage of Redwood Credit Union’s online, mobile and electronic products and services, including online banking, website, mobile banking, mobile deposit, ATMs, bill pay, and other convenient services.
• Acts as a key player in maintaining the integrity of the Redwood Group’s brands, ensuring effective and consistent use of the names, logos, and other representations of the organizations both internally and externally.
• Assists in coordinating special events and ensures the proper planning and execution of these events. These events may include the Annual Membership Meeting, branch grand openings, and other member and community events.
• Identifies key target marketing techniques and works closely with the department staff to ensure effective use of data, enhanced decision making and target marketing.
• Ensures the protection of Members’ confidential data.
• Plans, develops, places and tracks/monitors promotions which may include broadcast (cable/radio, etc.), print advertisements and digital efforts
• Performs quality control of materials, including proofreading and assists with quality control and proofreading tasks and other marketing support as requested.
• Provides excellent service to Members, Officials, management, staff, agencies/business partners and community contacts. Ensures positive relationships with a diverse group of people.
Non-Essential Functions
• Assists with general marketing related duties including digital signs, flyer and poster support, fulfillment of Marketing JIRA requests, support of organizational events and efforts, coordinating Member photo shoots, taking photographs, and providing other general marketing support as needed.
• Assists with RCU efforts related to community/non-profit groups, including marketing, communication, and event support.
• Takes active role in community events and contributes to local area non-profits via volunteerism, expert knowledge sharing, and serves as an ambassador in the community on behalf of RCU.
• Acts as a mixed-media specialist for the Redwood Group; assisting departments with a diverse array of in-house graphic design, video production, digital presentations, photography and desktop publishing projects, as needed.

Minimum Qualifications: Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Expert knowledge of HTML and CSS required.
  • Strong knowledge of UI/UX design and digital banking practices.
  • Extensive knowledge of digital marketing programs and optimizing based on copy, creative, and placement.
  • Expert knowledge of email and marketing automation platforms. Ability to use and harness these system’s capabilities for execution of RCU’s email marketing program.
  • Extensive experience with Enterprise-level ESPs and the ability to ramp-up quickly on an ESP even if you haven’t used it before
  • Expert knowledge of Content Management Systems (CMS), with substantial experience required. WordPress experience a plus.
  • Ability to manipulate web graphics and resizing of images for digital content as required.
  • Strong knowledge and abilities with data files and management, including ability to upload, segment, manipulate and ensure data integrity and quality in use with email, digital and other marketing programs.
  • Advanced Experience with Cost Per Click (CPC) and Cost Per Action (CPA) models/efforts.
  • Strong analytical skills. Experience managing web analytics and campaign management tools such as Google Analytics required.
  • Strong working knowledge of social media sites including but not limited to Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google Places, YouTube, Wikipedia, and blogs. Demonstrated knowledge, experience and skills in marketing and communication practices and principles.
  • Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel & PowerPoint.
  • Marketing Customer Information File (MCIF), Customer Relationship Management or database experience a plus.
  • Desktop publishing skills preferred.
  • Experience in the interactive agency industry or experience preferred.


  • Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to use a computer keyboard and calculator.
  • Work environment is indoors, majority of the time is spent sitting at a desk.


  • The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s degree in related field required, and 5+ years of experience. Certifications for online and mobile marketing preferred. Bilingual/Spanish speaking abilities a plus.
    Compensation: Base starting range: $42.00 to $56.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
    Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity.
