The role

We are looking for a Senior Design Systems & UI Designer to join our team on a full-time, remote basis. This is a senior-level position where you will own and evolve the design system that powers one of Canada’s leading fintech companies. You will work at the intersection of brand and product design, ensuring our visual language remains scalable, accessible, and consistent across our web and mobile platforms.

Core responsibilities

• Lead the creation and maintenance of our design system, including the development of scalable UI components, design tokens, typography, and grid systems.
• Partner closely with product designers, engineers, and brand teams to ensure seamless implementation and parity between design files and front-end code.
• Define governance models and documentation standards to drive system adoption and ensure high-quality, accessible user experiences across all digital touchpoints.

Skills and experience

• At least 6 years of professional experience in visual or UI design, with a proven track record of building and managing design systems.
• Expert-level proficiency in Figma, specifically regarding component properties, variables, and library management.
• Strong foundation in design system principles, including component architecture, accessibility standards, and responsive design.
• Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to advocate for design standards and collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams.
• A deep understanding of how to bridge the gap between design and development to ensure pixel-perfect execution.

Compensation and benefits
