The role

We are searching for a Senior Design Engineer to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a hybrid position based in Buenos Aires, Argentina. You will play a pivotal role in shaping and improving our Heart Design System, ensuring that our component library and documentation empower our teams to deliver inclusive, high-quality experiences that remain authentic to the GoFundMe brand.

Core responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end front-end development process while collaborating closely with designers and engineers to implement new features and product improvements.
• Drive the maintenance and evolution of our design system by building reusable components, managing version releases, and documenting breaking changes to assist other teams with upgrades.
• Provide mentorship through pair programming and code reviews, while acting as a primary advocate for the design system across the entire organization.

Skills and experience

To be successful in this role, you should be a self-driven collaborator with a strong ability to manage your own workload and communicate complex ideas clearly. We are looking for the following qualifications:

• Expert proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• At least 6 years of experience working with React, WCAG compliance, NPM package authorship, and Git version control.
• Proven experience in building and managing a design system.
• Familiarity with sprint management tools like Jira and design software such as Figma or Sketch.
• Strong English language skills to facilitate cross-functional collaboration.
