What you bring

We are searching for a Senior Combat Designer to join our team on a full-time basis. This role is remote and open to candidates located anywhere. You will be instrumental in crafting the combat systems for our upcoming 3rd person open-world action game, ensuring every encounter feels visceral and responsive. Your work will involve the following core responsibilities:

• Designing, prototyping, and implementing combat mechanics that support our game's narrative and vision.
• Partnering with our animation department to refine fluid, impactful movements that give combat a sense of weight and intensity.
• Balancing player abilities against enemy AI to ensure every encounter remains dynamic and exciting.

Requirements

To succeed in this role, you should have a proven track record of shipping at least one 3rd person action game. We are looking for someone with a deep understanding of animation principles and a strong ability to collaborate with animators to achieve high-quality melee feedback. You should be comfortable working with scripting and blueprinting, and you must possess a solid grasp of AI design and enemy behavior. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively across a distributed team are essential. While not strictly required, proficiency in Unreal Engine, experience with open-world design, and familiarity with tools like Maya, 3ds Max, or Blender are highly valued. We require all candidates to be fluent in English.
