Based in North Vancouver, our team is a collective of outdoor enthusiasts and innovative problem solvers who are deeply passionate about creating technical apparel that stands up to the most demanding conditions. We are currently looking for a visionary leader to join our Snow category, where we build, test, and validate gear designed for the circular future we hope to inhabit. If you are someone who thrives on curiosity and wants to help us ensure that nothing is left to waste, you will find a home here among fellow creators who are committed to doing what is right.
The opportunity
As our Senior Apparel Designer for Snow, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the long-term vision and design strategy for our snow product category. This is a highly technical, full-time leadership position where you will bridge the gap between creative innovation and functional performance. You will be responsible for guiding a team of talented designers and developers to create comprehensive apparel solutions that meet the evolving needs of our guests. By aligning your work with our design philosophies and sustainability principles, you will help us transition our snow products into circular builds while maintaining the high standards of performance our brand is known for.
A day in the life
- You will collaborate with leadership and cross-functional partners to drive the long-term strategy for the Snow category, ensuring our designs remain at the forefront of the industry.
- You will mentor and empower a high-performing team of designers, providing the guidance and support necessary to create innovative, resolved, and functional outerwear.
- You will engage in hands-on prototyping and pattern creation, utilizing your technical expertise to solve complex construction challenges while prioritizing repairability and sustainable material use.
Who you are
You are a seasoned creative with a deep technical background and a passion for the outdoors. You bring a collaborative spirit and a proactive approach to problem-solving, even when faced with ambiguity. To be successful in this role, you should have the following:
- A degree in design or equivalent experience, backed by at least 8 years of hands-on experience in textile-based outerwear design.
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership capacity, with a proven ability to mentor and develop team members.
- Advanced proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and pattern-making software, along with deep technical knowledge of sewing, taped garment construction, and Gore-Tex materials.
- Fluency in English and legal eligibility to work in Canada.
Why you'll love it here
We are committed to fostering a culture of inclusivity where every voice is heard and respected. We believe that our differences make us stronger and drive the innovation that defines our brand. When you join our team, you will enjoy a hybrid work environment that balances the need for collaborative, on-site innovation at our North Vancouver office with the flexibility to do your best work. We invite you to join us in our mission to leave the world better than we found it, all while pursuing your passion for the outdoors.
