At Huckleberry we build technology that helps families thrive. Our products combine data, artificial intelligence, and behavioral science to deliver practical, human-centered solutions that improve sleep and overall well-being for children and parents. The app holds a 4.9-star rating and is frequently described by users as life-changing. We are growing quickly and expanding our suite of tools so every family can benefit from the same level of support.
The role
We are hiring a Senior Python Engineer to join our fully remote engineering team on a full-time basis. In this position you will translate the outputs of our AI and machine-learning work into reliable production systems that reach families every day.
Core responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable backend services in Python that power new and existing family-focused products.
- Take algorithms developed by our data-science team and deploy them into our cloud environment so they run reliably at scale.
- Collaborate with product managers, designers, data scientists, and other engineers to turn user needs into dependable, high-quality software.
Skills and experience
We are looking for engineers who bring at least four years of professional backend Python experience and hold a bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field. You should be comfortable working with frameworks such as Django, Flask, or FastAPI, and you should have solid experience designing RESTful APIs and data schemas. Strong database skills are essential; you will work with both relational stores such as PostgreSQL and MySQL and NoSQL options such as MongoDB. Familiarity with Python data tools including Pandas and NumPy, along with testing frameworks like PyTest, will help you write clean, maintainable code. Experience deploying applications on cloud platforms, using Docker for containerization, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines is also important. Excellent analytical, debugging, and cross-team communication skills round out the profile we need.
Compensation and benefits
The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $150,000, depending on experience. In addition we offer equity, unlimited PTO, comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage, paid parental leave for both primary and secondary caregivers, and a 401k match. All positions are fully remote.
How to apply
If this mission and the technical challenges described above align with your experience, we encourage you to apply. We review applications on a rolling basis and look forward to learning how you can help us bring healthier sleep to more families.
