Product Owner at DeepSea

At DeepSea, we are a maritime technology leader dedicated to helping shipping companies reduce emissions and optimize fuel consumption through our advanced AI-driven platform. We are looking for a Lead Product Owner to join our global team and help steer the development of our digital and autonomous vessel solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own and prioritize the product backlog to maximize the value of our maritime technology solutions.
• Translate complex business, safety, and regulatory requirements into clear, actionable specifications for our engineering teams.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand customer pain points and balance them against technical feasibility and business goals.
• Maintain a clear, value-driven product roadmap while breaking down initiatives into manageable deliverables.
• Work closely with design and engineering teams to define and deliver reliable solutions across cloud platforms and onboard systems.
• Review completed work to ensure it meets our high standards for quality, usability, and reliability.
• Manage product documentation, including internal guides, release communications, and detailed technical specifications.
• Communicate progress, priorities, and roadmap updates effectively across the organization.

Must-haves

• At least 4 years of experience managing complex systems or products throughout their full lifecycle.
• An educational background in computer science, engineering, physics, applied mathematics, data analysis, or a related field.
• Proven ability to work in data-intensive, deep-tech, or model-driven environments.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage evolving initiatives across cross-functional teams.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• A collaborative mindset with a focus on maintaining alignment between business, engineering, and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of modern product development methodologies.

Nice-to-haves

• Proficiency with project and product management tools like Jira and Confluence.
• Experience with system-performance, data quality, or monitoring platforms.
• Familiarity with the lifecycle of ML or AI solutions and the tools used by data teams.
• A foundational understanding of data architecture, database concepts, and APIs.
