About the role

We’re looking for a visionary Product Marketing Director to lead our efforts in shaping the overarching narrative and market positioning of our product capabilities and service solutions. In this role, you’ll define and execute strategic positioning, messaging, and value propositions that resonate deeply with our customers and partners. This means translating complex product features into simple and value communication  and connecting the different features to compelling, overarching storytelling. You’ll take ownership of our product marketing infrastructure, building unified and scalable systems to align marketing, sales, and product teams, while ensuring consistency across key touchpoints like pricing strategies, the website, and customer communications.

This is a strategic leadership position where you’ll combine storytelling expertise with a helicopter view on existing and future product capability, to connect all elements of the customer journey into a cohesive and impactful experience. You’ll optimise market positioning through research, sharpen pricing models to suit customer needs, and drive go-to-market strategies that set us apart in a competitive landscape. What you’ll be doing 

As a Product Marketing Director, you will:

  • Partner with Product to build, ship and grow features that our customers will love.
  • Support roadmap development by identifying key value drivers with GTM implications. 
  • Partner with marketing to deliver outstanding marketing communications and focused campaigns across touchpoints.
  • Oversee positioning, messaging and product content development, centered around Pleo customers’ needs.
  • Oversee the creation of launch playbooks, including market requirements, sales enablement plans, product led growth initiatives  and marketing channel support..
  • Articulate the product opportunity in the market and provide insight and leadership from product introduction through end-of-life to commercial domains.
  • Build a high performing team through coaching and developing talent. Actively develop an inclusive belonging culture by lifting the value that different perspectives and cultures bring to the organisation.
  • Build network and influence across multiple internal functions / divisions
  • Advance and drive excellence in the craft

You’ll thrive in this role if:

  • You have extensive experience in insights driven marketing and business roles
  • You have a track record with financial or regulated products is a plus 
  • You have experience of leading a team of high performing Product Marketeers
  • You leave no stone unturned when it comes to conducting market, competitor and customer research to gather insights and assess market opportunities
  • You know how to challenge the status quo with respect, kindness and strong opinions
  • You’ve led product and feature launches from conception phase to announcement and adoption
  • You can introduce new ways of looking at problems and encourage diverse thinking to find customer and business innovation
  • You are an outstanding communicator, be it writing, stakeholder managing or presenting to the rest of the business. 
  • You have a track record of strategic planning, pragmatism and superior storytelling capabilities

Who you’ll be working with and reporting to

You’ll report to our Senior Director of Product Marketing, Julie Lilliehook, and work closely with our Product and Marketing teams. You’ll be joining our team of 8 Product Marketeers, who each problem solve a different area within the business.
