We are PhysicsX, a deep-tech company of scientists and engineers who build machine learning tools that dramatically speed up physics simulations. Our work opens new optimisation possibilities in design, engineering and systems control for customers in Renewables & Sustainability, Space, Aerospace, Medical Devices, Additive Manufacturing and Energy. By improving artificial-heart designs, cutting aircraft and vehicle emissions and boosting wind-turbine performance, we create tangible benefits for society while helping clients transform their engineering processes.
What you'll be doing
- Conduct user research with simulation engineers, data scientists and customers to uncover needs, behaviours and pain points in complex physics-driven workflows.
- Translate those insights into wireframes, interactive prototypes and high-fidelity designs that turn sophisticated AI and ML capabilities into intuitive interfaces for expert users.
- Collaborate daily with product managers, engineers and stakeholders, iterate on designs through feedback and testing, and maintain scalable design systems so every product feels consistent and polished.
What you'll bring
- A bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction or equivalent practical experience, plus at least two years of hands-on product design work and a portfolio that demonstrates end-to-end projects.
- Proficiency with Figma, Adobe Creative Suite and similar tools, along with solid experience running user research and converting findings into clear design decisions.
- Strong grasp of UX/UI principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment; experience designing for expert users such as mechanical engineers or data scientists, familiarity with data-science or machine-learning concepts, and 3D design skills (Houdini, Blender, Unity3D) are all advantageous.
- Fluency in English.
What you'll get
- The chance to shape an early-stage deep-tech company, work on meaningful problems at the frontier of science and engineering, and see your designs directly influence how customers solve real-world challenges.
- A flat, supportive culture where ideas are welcomed, colleagues come from diverse backgrounds yet share a drive to excel, and you can maintain a healthy balance between work and personal life.
- Hybrid working with flexible hours, the choice of our Shoreditch or Bicester offices plus time from home, generous vacation and parental leave, complimentary office food, regular team outings, first-class hardware and access to our in-house HPC and GPU resources, plus competitive compensation and equity.
