The opportunity

We are seeking a Senior Product Designer to join our team on a full-time basis. In this role, you will be a key player in elevating the visual and interaction quality of our core product surfaces. You will not just be designing screens, but crafting entire user journeys that define how people interact with Ecosia. This position is perfect for someone who is ready to take ownership of projects, think critically about how AI can enhance the user experience, and help us evolve our design systems to be both functional and distinct.

A day in the life

• Refine our visual language by contributing to our design system, creating motion patterns, and implementing components that bring personality and coherence to our search and AI interfaces.
• Lead end-to-end projects by collaborating with product managers to define scope, conducting research, and guiding your designs from initial concepts through to final production.
• Experiment with AI integration by using modern tools to build prototypes, automations, or agents, and working closely with our engineering team to push the technical boundaries of what our products can do.

Who you are

You are a seasoned designer with 3 to 5 years of experience who is ready to step into a more systems-oriented role. You possess a sharp eye for UI craft, including typography and motion, and you have a portfolio that demonstrates your ability to own complex projects. You are comfortable working in English within a distributed team, and you have a bias for action that allows you to move projects forward independently. Most importantly, you are genuinely curious about the intersection of design and AI, and you are eager to grow your technical skills alongside a supportive team.
