Product Design Manager at Goodparty

GoodParty.org is on a mission to restore democracy by ensuring that people matter more than money. We empower independent candidates to run, win, and serve their communities through our AI-powered platform. With over 3,400 independent candidate wins across 48 states last year, we are a growing movement dedicated to solving the most pressing issues in our society. We are looking for a remote Product Design Manager to lead our design team, drive our visual vision, and help us modernize our community engagement tools. This is a player/coach role where you will mentor designers while remaining hands-on with product execution.

• Build and mentor a world-class team of Product and Brand Designers.
• Establish design processes that prioritize an iterative, data-driven, and fast-paced philosophy.
• Collaborate with product leadership to define and execute the long-term design vision.
• Contribute directly to design work as a hands-on individual contributor.
• Modernize our brand identity and design system to elevate our visual presence.
• Implement user research best practices to ensure consistent feedback loops inform our product development.
• Champion the integration of AI tools to increase team efficiency and speed.
• Ensure all interfaces are accessible, empathetic, and user-centered.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience leading design teams in a consumer internet or pro-sumer SaaS environment, including management of at least 3 direct reports.
• A total of 5+ years of product design experience, with at least 3 years spent as an individual contributor.
• Deep expertise in responsive web design and native mobile applications.
• High proficiency with industry-standard design tools such as Figma and Maze.
• Proven ability to thrive in the ambiguous, fast-paced environment of an early-stage startup.
• Strong storytelling abilities with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• A solid grasp of user-centered design principles and a track record of applying them to complex problems.
• Must be physically located in the United States, as we are unable to provide visa sponsorship.

Preferred qualifications

• Background in leading brand teams or experience within an agency setting alongside in-house product leadership.
• Prior involvement in political activism, democracy reform, or political work.
• A personal passion for addressing the challenges facing modern democracy.

Compensation

The salary range for this full-time, remote position is $170,000 - $210,000, depending on your experience and qualifications. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including:
