At OpenTable, we have spent over 23 years building a deep understanding of the hospitality industry. As part of the Booking Holdings family, we connect millions of diners with tens of thousands of restaurants across the globe. Our mission is to empower venues by helping them manage their capacity, streamline operations, and grow their revenue. When you join our team, you become part of a massive global network that includes brands like KAYAK, momondo, and OpenTable. We pride ourselves on a culture rooted in hospitality, where we take care of our people just as much as we take care of our guests. We offer an inclusive environment where every team member has the chance to make a real, tangible impact on our products.
About the Role
We are looking for a Product Design Lead to join us on a full-time basis. In this role, you will guide the product design strategy for our consumer growth team. You will work alongside a diverse group of product managers, engineers, and data scientists to shape the future of the OpenTable customer experience. This position is perfect for someone who enjoys balancing the needs of diners and restaurant partners while driving business goals through thoughtful, user-centered design.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the end-to-end design process for our consumer growth initiatives, ranging from initial user research and prototyping to delivering high-fidelity visual and interaction designs.
- Manage, mentor, and grow a small team of product designers, fostering a supportive environment that encourages professional development and design excellence.
- Collaborate with cross-functional partners to launch experiments, conduct A/B tests, and facilitate workshops that translate complex workflows into accessible, elegant user experiences.
Requirements
We are looking for a leader who puts people at the center of their work. You should have a strong portfolio that showcases your problem-solving abilities, visual design expertise, and interaction design skills across both web and mobile platforms. Key qualifications include:
- Extensive experience working on global products within a large-scale, product-led environment, specifically across iOS, Android, and responsive web.
- A proven track record of successfully managing or mentoring other designers.
- Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, with the ability to lead projects independently and drive collaboration across teams.
- A deep understanding of the full design lifecycle, from gathering insights to delivering polished, final products.
Location
This position is based in the United Kingdom and follows a hybrid work model, requiring you to be in the office two days per week.
Compensation and Benefits
We are committed to supporting your well-being and professional growth. Our benefits package includes:
- Flexible work location options and a hybrid office schedule.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and life insurance coverage.
- A dedicated employee assistance program.
- Generous paid time off, including 25 vacation days plus statutory UK Bank Holidays and an additional annual celebration day.
- Commuter benefits, including a season ticket loan and Bike2Work scheme.
- Additional perks such as a gym discount, pension fund, and business discounts through Perkbox.
