At Arbor, we are building a scalable, low-cost approach to Biomass Carbon Removal and Storage by applying modern rocket engine technology to turn forestry waste into clean energy and permanent carbon sequestration. Having raised over $30 million from top investors and pre-sold our first 2,000 tons of carbon removal, we are looking for a Senior Process Engineer to join our team in the United States to help design and commission our first industrial plant.
Responsibilities
- Own the development of process engineering deliverables, including Process Flow Diagrams, Heat and Material Balances, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Manage equipment sizing and specifications for pumps, heat exchangers, pressure vessels, and control valves.
- Perform critical engineering calculations, such as line sizing, pressure relief loads, and relief valve sizing.
- Lead process hazard analysis and HAZOP sessions to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
- Develop control narratives, operating procedures, and alarm reviews.
- Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and manage EPC process engineering efforts through the construction and commissioning phases.
- Support conceptual feasibility studies and contribute to cost estimation efforts.
Must-haves
- A Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in process engineering.
- A strong grasp of chemical engineering principles and a broad understanding of how they integrate with mechanical, civil, and electrical disciplines.
- Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive projects to completion.
- Fluency in English.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience working within an agile or startup environment.
- Practical, hands-on experience with field troubleshooting or plant operations.
- Technical expertise in gasification, power generation, or high-pressure systems exceeding 100 bar.
- A current Professional Engineer (PE) license.
