At Arbor, we are working to solve the climate crisis by developing a scalable, affordable approach to Biomass Carbon Removal and Storage. By utilizing modern rocket engine technology, our team converts forestry waste into clean electricity, water, and high-purity carbon dioxide. We have already raised over $30 million from leading deeptech investors and successfully pre-sold our first 2,000 tons of carbon removal. We are now looking for passionate individuals to join our world-class team as we design our first plant and push the boundaries of carbon-negative energy.
About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Process Engineer to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis. In this role, you will lead the development of process engineering deliverables for our modular units, including biomass gasification, oxy-combustion, and supercritical CO2 power generation. You will be instrumental in taking our novel technology from conceptual studies through to commissioning, startup, and operational troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and manage core process engineering documentation, such as Process Flow Diagrams, Heat and Material Balances, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Oversee the sizing and specification of critical equipment, including pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, and control valves.
- Manage EPC process engineering efforts during the detailed design and construction phases to ensure projects are executed successfully.
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you should have a strong foundation in engineering principles and a collaborative mindset.
- A Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in process engineering.
- A solid grasp of chemical engineering fundamentals and a broad understanding of how they integrate with mechanical, civil, and electrical disciplines.
- Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex projects.
We also value candidates who have experience in startup environments, hands-on field operations, or high-pressure system design, as well as those who hold a Professional Engineer license.
Location
This position is based in the United States.
Compensation and Benefits
Arbor is committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We actively encourage applications from individuals of all backgrounds, as we believe that solving global problems requires a wide variety of perspectives and experiences.
