At Arbor, we are pioneering a scalable and affordable method for Biomass Carbon Removal and Storage. By utilizing advanced rocket engine technology, we convert forestry waste into clean electricity, water, and high-purity carbon dioxide. Our process relies on compact gasification, oxy-combustion with a supercritical CO2 cycle, and high-pressure turbo-expansion to ensure carbon is captured and sequestered permanently. Since our founding two years ago, we have secured over $30 million in funding from leading deeptech investors, assembled an elite team of scientists and engineers, and pre-sold our first 2,000 tons of carbon removal. We are currently designing our inaugural plant to demonstrate our carbon-negative energy technology, and we invite you to join us in our mission to foster planetary partnership.
Key outcomes
- Take ownership of process engineering deliverables for modular units, including biomass gasification, supercritical CO2 power generation, and CO2 purification.
- Create essential documentation such as Process Flow Diagrams, Heat and Material Balances, and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams.
- Manage equipment sizing and specifications for pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, and control valves.
- Perform critical calculations for line sizing, pressure relief loads, and valve sizing.
- Lead process hazard analysis and HAZOP sessions to ensure safety and operational integrity.
- Develop control narratives, operating procedures, and alarm reviews to support plant commissioning and startup.
- Oversee engineering, procurement, and construction efforts to ensure projects are executed successfully.
Requirements
- A Bachelor’s degree in chemical or mechanical engineering.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in process engineering.
- A strong grasp of chemical engineering fundamentals alongside a broad understanding of mechanical, civil, and electrical requirements.
- Proven ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and deliver complex engineering projects.
- Fluency in English.
Preferred qualifications
- Previous experience working within an agile or startup environment.
- Practical, hands-on experience with field operations or troubleshooting.
- Technical background in power generation, gasification, or high-pressure systems exceeding 100 bar.
- An active Professional Engineer license.
