What is this role?

We are hiring a Principal Software Engineer to join us full time in a fully remote position. The role is open to senior engineers who are ready to make high-stakes technical decisions and deliver large-scale projects that will help Motion grow two orders of magnitude.

What will you do?

• Own major parts of the product code and drive the highest-impact initiatives on our roadmap from concept through launch.
• Balance speed and quality while navigating ambiguity, setting clear goals, and filling in missing details without waiting for every requirement to be spelled out.
• Collaborate closely with a high-talent engineering team, contribute ideas that get rigorously tested, and learn from peers whose median experience is nine years.

What's in it for you?

Base salary ranges from $270,000 to $375,000, with total compensation, including equity and bonus, between $504,000 and $965,000 for U.S.-based employees; compensation for candidates outside the U.S. is adjusted to local market conditions. Additional benefits include fully remote work, visa sponsorship for qualified candidates, and equity compensation.
