With a national footprint across Canada and a dedicated team of 300 professionals, we deliver innovative design solutions across a diverse range of sectors, including commercial, residential, workplace, healthcare, senior living, public, and industrial projects. We are currently seeking a Principal or Senior Associate to join our Calgary office, where you will play a pivotal role in expanding our firm's reach, mentoring our talented staff, and leading high-calibre design projects.
Key outcomes
- Collaborate with our executive leadership team to grow our client base and revenue within your chosen market sectors in Calgary.
- Lead, motivate, and manage our local Calgary team while serving as an ethical role model who embodies our firm's vision, values, and brand.
- Drive business development initiatives, including championing RFP submissions, preparing fee proposals, and leading client pitches.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their needs are met and our firm remains a top choice for future opportunities.
- Provide design leadership by championing innovative, practical, and aesthetically appealing concepts that align with project budgets.
- Oversee all aspects of project delivery, including design coordination, production, contract administration, and financial performance, while maintaining a minimum 50% billability ratio.
- Foster a culture of professional growth by coaching, mentoring, and evaluating staff members to develop the next generation of design experts.
Requirements
- Between 10 and 15 or more years of industry experience, supported by a proven track record in business development.
- An entrepreneurial mindset with a specific interest in driving client management and business growth within the Calgary market.
- Established professional networks in Calgary, paired with deep industry and market knowledge.
- Demonstrated leadership capabilities and the ability to manage and inspire a team.
- Comprehensive experience across all project phases, from conceptual design through to contract administration and construction services.
- A strong portfolio of completed projects and designs.
- A meticulous approach to project management combined with the ability to lead projects to successful completion.
- High energy, an innovative approach to planning and design, and excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Fluency in English.
