Relay Commerce is a leading e-commerce enablement platform that provides scaling solutions for personalized messaging, social commerce, and customer retention. Our suite of eight software products helps over 35,000 merchants navigate the digital landscape, driving more than $1 billion in aggregate incremental gross merchandise volume. Our ecosystem includes specialized brands like Smartrr, which powers subscription solutions, Peel Insights for retention data analytics, and Relo, a repeat revenue platform for FMCG brands. We are currently looking for a senior-level Partnerships and Business Development Manager to join our team on a full-time, remote basis to help us expand our reach and drive the adoption of our retention marketing solutions.

Key outcomes

  • Take full ownership of the sales pipeline, including lead engagement, follow-ups, and the scheduling and closing of product demos.
  • Identify and prospect new agency partners, such as marketing and development firms, as well as Shopify app partners that align with our focus on DTC and CPG subscription e-commerce.
  • Create and implement a strategic outreach plan to build a consistent pipeline of partners who generate predictable referral revenue.
  • Communicate our software value proposition clearly and effectively to both potential partners and inbound merchants.
  • Lead the negotiation and finalization of partnership agreements.
  • Cultivate and maintain long-term, productive relationships with key stakeholders at partner organizations.
  • Work closely with our internal teams, including Customer Success, Marketing, and Product, to ensure sales alignment and partner success.
  • Coordinate across our retention division, including Smartrr, Relo, and Peel, to generate mutual partner opportunities and internal lead flow.

Requirements

  • Proven professional experience in sales or partnerships, ideally within the e-commerce technology or SaaS sectors.
  • Demonstrable history of working effectively with marketing or developer agencies.
  • Solid understanding of the Shopify ecosystem and the functionality of Shopify apps.
  • A deep grasp of retention marketing and its specific impact on the growth of e-commerce businesses.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, with a strong preference for HubSpot.
  • A self-motivated and results-oriented mindset with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Fluency in English.

Preferred qualifications

  • Prior experience or a strong understanding of the DTC and CPG subscription-based e-commerce landscape.
  • A documented track record of successfully developing partnerships and driving revenue growth.
