ML Engineer at Flatfile

At Flatfile we help the world’s largest enterprises automate the most stubborn parts of data import, mapping, cleaning, and transformation. Our Applied AI team is building an AI-native experience that turns hours of manual work into minutes, and we’re looking for an experienced engineer who’s excited to shape what that future looks like.

What is this role?

This is a full-time, remote Senior ML Engineer position. You’ll join early on our Applied AI team, reporting to the VP of Product, and you’ll help define how AI agents handle enterprise-scale data problems from day one.

What will you do?

• Chart a roadmap of high-impact AI and ML applications, then fine-tune, train, and deploy models that power features such as intelligent mapping and data transformation.
• Research, design, and launch AI agents that reduce manual intervention, while continuously monitoring and improving model performance and privacy safeguards.
• Partner closely with product engineers and designers to ship delightful, production-ready experiences and guide projects from first idea through customer launch.

What makes you a great fit?

You bring hands-on experience building and maintaining production ML systems, including fine-tuning and deploying open-source models. You’ve worked with large-scale data pipelines, feel comfortable in Python (or another high-level language), and you’re eager to pick up whatever tools or techniques the work requires. Strong problem-solving skills, a habit of sharing knowledge clearly, and the ability to move quickly in a fast-paced environment are essential. We especially value candidates who have explored areas such as NLP, deep learning, or reinforcement learning and who enjoy collaborating directly with product and design teams.

We offer a salary range of $270,000 - $320,000 annually, plus eligibility to participate in our equity plan.
