Responsibilities
- Design and build production-ready backend APIs in a self-sufficient team that releases frequently.
- Create technical designs for new features and carry them through to deployment.
- Own the stability, performance, and reliability of the services you ship, including proactive monitoring and bug resolution.
- Define and maintain AWS infrastructure as code with Terraform for every feature you deliver.
- Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge through documentation and pair sessions.
Must-haves
- At least two years of commercial experience building backend services with TypeScript or JavaScript and Node.js.
- Hands-on work with multiple AWS services such as Lambda, SQS, SNS, Kinesis, EventBridge, Step Functions, DynamoDB, RDS (PostgreSQL), and API Gateway.
- Practical experience operating both large SQL and NoSQL databases and understanding their trade-offs.
- Strong background in microservice architectures and the ability to break complex systems into scalable components.
- Habit of writing unit tests with Jest.
- Upper-intermediate or higher English proficiency for clear written and verbal communication.
- Comfortable contributing to internal documentation and guiding less-experienced teammates.

- Experience publishing or maintaining open-source projects.
- Familiarity with modern serverless and event-driven patterns.
