The role
We are looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Orlando, Florida, on a full-time, on-site basis. This is a leadership-focused role for an experienced professional who is ready to take ownership of complex mechanical systems from the initial design phase through to final commissioning. You will serve as a technical authority, guiding our engineering team and managing the successful delivery of projects that demand precision, safety, and deep technical expertise.
Core responsibilities
- Design and implement fully integrated mechanical assembly systems, ensuring all work complies with government codes and internal quality standards.
- Act as a technical lead and project manager for initiatives ranging from $50k to $250k, where you will oversee schedules, procurement, subcontractor coordination, and project scope.
- Perform critical system analysis, including stress and fatigue calculations, failure mode effects analysis, and risk assessments to minimize single points of failure and optimize system reliability.
Skills and experience
To succeed in this position, you should have a strong background in mechanical design and a proven ability to work within multi-disciplinary teams. We value candidates who bring the following qualifications:
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks for developing detailed mechanical drawings, assemblies, and installation procedures.
- Expertise in designing and troubleshooting pneumatic and hydraulic control systems.
- Advanced knowledge of system analysis, including tolerance studies, life expectancy modeling, and hazard mitigation.
- Experience with ride system design requirements, such as guest acceleration, reach envelopes, and emergency evacuation protocols.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to communicate effectively with engineers, designers, and drafters.
- Professional fluency in English.
