What you'll be doing
- You will refine our Direct Air Capture systems to ensure they are optimized for commercialization, scalability, and efficient manufacturing.
- You will work alongside our mechanical and process engineering teams to develop cost models, manage containerized system designs, and contribute to our DOE DAC Hub grant initiatives.
- You will provide leadership and guidance to our mechanical engineering team, helping to mentor staff and oversee the transition of designs from the prototype phase into field deployment.
What you'll bring
- You hold a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with a Master’s degree considered a plus.
- You possess at least 6 years of experience in mechanical design, specifically involving pneumatics, machine design, steam distribution, and containerized systems.
- You have advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software, particularly Solidworks, and are comfortable performing FEA and heat transfer analysis.
- You have a strong background in designing for scale, including experience with vacuum technology, heat exchangers, chillers, and fans.
- You are capable of integrating equipment into ISO shipping containers and have experience guiding technicians through testing and prototyping.
- You are a U.S. citizen or green card holder, which is a requirement due to our federal contracts.
- You communicate fluently in English and thrive in collaborative, team-oriented environments.
What you'll get
The salary for this position is $145,000-170,000 per year. Please note that this role requires the physical ability to operate machinery, lift loads of 40 lbs or more, and perform tasks such as crouching or climbing stairs to work on our equipment.
