About the role:

Sapphire is looking for a marketing manager with experience in a wide-range of marketing capabilities, with an emphasis on content and social media. Our growing team is eager to bring on an enthusiastic, hard-working and collaborative team player who can both support different marketing programs and has the entrepreneurial spirit to lead them when necessary. 

Sapphire’s marketing mission is to drive brand awareness for the firm, and predominantly Sapphire’s primary investment vehicle, Sapphire Ventures, amongst startup CEOs and the VC community.  We do this through PR and communications, events, content, and social media. And we bring our brand to life through our website, creative assets, and other marketing collateral. 

Our team is made up of full-stack marketers and communicators, capable of driving and jumping in on a multitude of initiatives across the firm. We’re looking for someone to join our team with a complementary skill set, and passion for social media management and content generation. Responsibilities:

Social Media: Manage Sapphire social media accounts (LinkedIn & Twitter), as well as select firm Partners, as a key vehicle to grow the Sapphire brand. This includes growing followers and boosting engagement amongst key audiences. We are looking for:

• A savvy storyteller and communicator at heart who understands how to translate complex narratives into simple and engaging messages on social media 
• Proven experience in growing LinkedIn and Twitter followers and engaging with the right audiences using organic and paid strategies
• Proven experience in setting social media goals with KPIs that map to brand and marketing objectives, measuring success and reporting on outcomes
• A process-oriented social media expert who can manage a heavy editorial calendar and share learnings and recommendations for our social media efforts  
• Manage budget and forecasting, including analysis and detailed metrics between spend and performance, providing recommendations on how to best capture ROI

Content: Support Sapphire Ventures’ content strategy and help manage the content calendar, while focusing on improving content quality and distribution. Content types will include blogs, emails, newsletter campaigns, event landing pages, playbooks, presentations, portfolio company case studies and more. We are looking for:

• An exceptional and thoughtful writer/copy editor with a knack for taking dense, technical or complex topics and helping our team tell the best, most compelling stories possible
• A detail-oriented copy editor with familiarity with the most common style guides including AP style and AMA
• A thoughtful content editor who can collaborate with investors to align on optimal content outcomes, helping determine the best distribution plans and execute SEO and social media strategies

General: A versatile marketer and team player who lives Sapphire’s values of being agile and supporting by willing to jump in on all things marketing depending on where the team may need support including, but not limited to events, PR/communications, digital marketing, etc. We are looking for:

• Enthusiastic and dedicated team member who has a strong work ethic and takes pride in their work product
• Brings an entrepreneurial spirit to their areas of responsibility while being able to closely collaborate with the marketing team and investors 
• Work closely with our compliance team to ensure all content developed for external audiences is reviewed and approved.

Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing/communications or a related field
• ~3 years of proven working experience in social media, content creation and marketing in the venture capital, private equity, professional services firms or B2B tech ecosystem
• Proficiency with social media and project management tools such as Hubspot, Monday.com, WordPress, Sprout or an alternative, etc.
• Ability to understand how your work maps to marketing objectives and influences business outcomes 
• Strong time management skills and ability to manage concurrent tasks efficiently
• Team player mindset, nimble and can adapt to reprioritization when necessary 
• Positive, professional attitude with pride in work product
• Open, honest, and collaborative communication skills
• Thoughtful and detail-oriented writer and copy editor
