What is this role?
We are seeking an experienced Market Director to oversee our business and integrated marketing strategies for Japan and Korea. This is a full-time, executive-level position based in Tokyo. You will work in a hybrid capacity as you lead our growth initiatives and manage our regional teams to ensure we continue to provide the best value and experience to our customers.
What will you do?
- Drive regional growth by identifying and securing new business opportunities, including partnerships with marketplaces, payment providers, influencers, and offline sales channels.
- Develop and execute comprehensive marketing communication strategies designed to boost brand awareness and improve both customer acquisition and retention.
- Manage the Japan market budget and collaborate with cross-functional departments like finance, global logistics, and merchandising to ensure our growth goals are met efficiently.
What makes you a great fit?
To succeed in this role, you should bring a deep understanding of the direct-to-consumer retail landscape in Japan and Korea. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can navigate complex business environments and lead teams effectively.
- You possess 15 or more years of experience in ecommerce and marketing.
- You are fluent in Japanese and have strong English communication skills.
- You have a proven track record of managing teams, whether in-person or remotely, and collaborating with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.
- Familiarity with VMS compliance, cross-border retail, and global logistics is considered a significant asset.
