At DonorsChoose, we believe that every student deserves access to a great education, regardless of their community. Since our founding in 2000, we have helped more than 5 million people contribute $1 billion toward classroom projects, ranging from essential art supplies to identity-affirming books. We are deeply committed to fighting systemic inequity by directing the majority of our support to schools that have been historically underfunded. Our team is a diverse, passionate group working from across the country, and we are proud to be recognized as an innovative leader in the nonprofit space.
The opportunity
We are looking for a Manager of Mid Level Giving to join our Marketing team. This role is vital to our mission, as you will be the primary point of contact for our dedicated supporters who contribute $1,000 or more annually. You will help us grow this community by building authentic, long-term relationships and creating meaningful engagement strategies. By serving as an advocate for these donors, you will ensure their voices are heard within our organization while helping us reach our ambitious fundraising goals to support teachers and students nationwide.
A day in the life
- You will cultivate and steward a portfolio of supporters, using data-driven insights to set revenue goals and identify opportunities to graduate donors into our major gifts program.
- You will design and execute tailored marketing and stewardship plans, including managing campaigns and email communications that keep our donors inspired and connected to our mission.
- You will act as an internal expert for the mid-level donor audience, collaborating across teams to share insights and ensure our organizational strategies align with the needs and motivations of our supporters.
Who you are
You are a relationship-builder at heart with proven experience managing donor portfolios. You possess a strong background in marketing, strategic planning, and data analysis, which allows you to make informed decisions that drive program growth. You are comfortable navigating complex donor needs, and you are deeply passionate about advancing racial equity in education. Because you will be working in a collaborative environment, you should be an excellent communicator who is comfortable advocating for your audience while working alongside diverse teams. Proficiency in English is required for this role.
Why you'll love it here
We offer a supportive and flexible work environment where your contributions directly impact the lives of students and teachers. We are committed to pay transparency and offer a competitive salary range of $72,000 to $80,000, with an adjusted range of $78,000 to $86,000 for those living in higher cost-of-labor locations like New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Seattle, Boston, and Washington, D.C.
Our benefits package is designed to support your well-being and professional growth:
- Comprehensive medical insurance for you and your family.
- A matching 401(k) plan up to 5% of your base salary.
- A generous leave policy including 25 paid vacation days and 11 paid holidays.
- An annual stipend dedicated to your professional development.
- A flexible, hybrid work environment that supports both remote work and office collaboration.
