Seurat is on a mission to reshape the manufacturing landscape for both people and our planet. By utilizing our proprietary Area Printing process, which originated at Lawrence Livermore National Labs, we enable the creation of metal components that rival conventional techniques in both cost and quality. This approach supports the reshoring of supply chains and helps decarbonize industry. Having secured over $180 million in funding from notable partners like NVIDIA, Porsche SE, and Siemens Energy, we are now looking for a Senior Liquid Crystal Materials Scientist to join our team on a full-time, on-site basis in the United States. In this role, you will help us produce our innovative liquid crystal-based electro-optic patterning devices as we scale our production capabilities.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the full characterization of electro-optic devices, ranging from the inspection of incoming raw materials to final system validation.
- Establish and refine the methods and procedures necessary to scale our liquid crystal technology for production.
- Lead continuous improvement cycles by performing root cause analysis and implementing effective corrective actions to track and monitor key performance indicators.
Requirements
- Hold a Master’s or PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Physics, Optics, or Electrical Engineering, or a Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- Demonstrate strong expertise in the processing, development, and testing of liquid crystals for electro-optical applications, including characterization and modeling.
- Possess technical proficiency in areas such as ASIC design, optical technologies, electrical characterization using impedance analyzers or IV curve tracers, and signal measurement.
- Show a high level of organization, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
- Be prepared for a travel requirement of up to 15%.
