At Formation Bio, we are on a mission to reshape the pharmaceutical landscape by making drug development significantly more efficient. Since our founding in 2016, we have focused on overcoming the bottlenecks that slow down clinical trials and prevent new medicines from reaching patients. By combining advanced technology platforms with deep expertise, we partner with research organizations and biotech firms to advance drug programs through clinical proof of concept. Our work is supported by a prestigious group of investors, including a16z, Sequoia, and Sanofi, and we are looking for passionate individuals who want to help us drive this transformation.
About the Role
We are seeking a Lead Product Manager to join our team in a full-time capacity. In this role, you will spearhead our technology strategy by conceptualizing products from the ground up, conducting rigorous research, and managing the iterative development of new solutions. You will work in a highly entrepreneurial environment where you will collaborate closely with our Medical, R&D, and Clinical Operations teams to solve complex, real-world challenges in the drug development process.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead 0-to-1 product conceptualization and execution to address unique challenges within our clinical trial and drug development workflows.
- Collaborate across internal departments, including Biometrics and Clinical Program Management, to identify and implement both technical and process-oriented solutions.
- Drive product strategy by balancing in-house development with the integration of third-party software to ensure we meet our strategic objectives efficiently.
Requirements
To be successful in this position, you should possess the following qualifications:
- At least 5 years of experience in product management, specifically with a focus on building new or experimental products.
- A strong understanding of the evolving landscape of AI and LLMs and how these technologies can be applied to product development.
- Proven experience in leading high-performing teams and managing products from initial concept through to launch.
- A deep interest in the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry, with a preference for candidates who have prior experience in these sectors.
- The ability to thrive in ambiguous environments, test hypotheses quickly, and prioritize effectively.
Location
This is a hybrid role. We are prioritizing candidates located in or willing to relocate to the New York City, Boston, Research Triangle (NC), or San Francisco Bay Area regions.
Compensation and Benefits
The target salary range for this position is $180,000 to $240,000. In addition to your base salary, we provide:
- Equity compensation to ensure you share in our long-term success.
- Hybrid work flexibility to support a balanced professional life.
