We are on a mission to completely transform the driving experience. We believe vehicles should be significantly smarter, safer, and more connected to the world around us. Since becoming the first startup acquisition by Honda in 2019, we have been working as their dedicated software and user experience division. We are currently focused on building the future of electric vehicles for millions of people globally, and we would love for you to join us in solving these environmental challenges through innovative digital design.
What is this role?
We are searching for a Lead Product Designer to join our team on a full-time basis at our Silicon Valley office. This is a senior-level position where you will play a pivotal role in defining how users interact with our next generation of electric vehicles. You will work within a dynamic startup environment, collaborating with global partners to shape the digital strategy for the Honda and Acura brands.
What will you do?
- Collaborate with international teams across California, the Midwest, and Asia to develop new electric vehicle products and establish design best practices.
- Take ownership of the end-to-end design process, including wireframing, prototyping, and feature development based on data, market research, and A/B testing.
- Provide senior-level leadership by mentoring the design team, maintaining high aesthetic and functional standards, and fostering a culture of thoughtful critique.
What makes you a great fit?
You should have at least 6 years of experience in product design, specifically with a focus on mobile applications and complex software. We value candidates who possess a strong foundation in interaction design, including a refined eye for layout, typography, iconography, and color. You must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and have advanced skills with modern prototyping tools. Because you will be working with global divisions, your ability to communicate complex ideas and secure buy-in from stakeholders is essential. A bachelor’s degree in a design-related field is required, and while not mandatory, business-level proficiency in Japanese is preferred. Please be prepared for 15 to 20 percent travel within the United States and Asia as projects require.
What's in it for you?
By joining our team, you will have the unique opportunity to be at the forefront of the electric vehicle revolution. We offer a collaborative and diverse workplace where your individual background and ideas are highly valued. We are proud of our international team, which currently represents 11 countries across 5 continents, and we are committed to providing equal opportunities to all applicants. You will enjoy the freedom to test new ideas, push creative boundaries, and contribute to products that have a meaningful impact on drivers worldwide.
