The opportunity

We are seeking a Lead Product Designer to take ownership of our design system and drive the visual strategy for our web experiences. This is a pivotal role where you will bridge the gap between complex user needs and elegant, functional design. You will work across our multi-domain strategy, ensuring that our products are not only beautiful and consistent but also highly effective at helping students succeed. By partnering with product managers, engineers, and researchers, you will ensure that our design language remains a powerful asset that scales alongside our growing business.

A day in the life

• You will spearhead the evolution of our design system, collaborating with front-end engineers and fellow designers to create reusable, high-quality components that maintain visual consistency across all our domains.
• You will translate ambiguous, complex problems into simple user journeys and polished visual designs, using tools like Figma to build wireframes and interactive prototypes that bring your ideas to life.
• You will act as a strategic partner to our product and research teams, using both qualitative and quantitative data to iterate on designs post-launch and ensure our solutions meet the real-world needs of students.

Who you are

You are a seasoned designer with at least 8 years of experience in individual contributor roles, specifically focused on desktop and mobile web applications. You possess a deep understanding of UX design and design strategy, and you have a proven track record of leading successful projects from concept to delivery. You are a systems thinker who prides yourself on being hands-on, meaning you are just as comfortable discussing high-level product strategy as you are refining the smallest UI details. You communicate with clarity and confidence, and you thrive in an Agile environment where collaboration with cross-functional teams is the norm. Fluency in English is required for this role.
