We are the team behind Big Time, a breakout multiplayer action RPG, and the creators of Open Loot, a Web3 gaming platform that supports hundreds of thousands of players. Our ecosystem is already profitable and scaling rapidly, having generated over $300 million in revenue through seamless onboarding and player-owned economies. Backed by industry veterans from companies like Blizzard, Epic, Riot, and EA, we are looking for a Lead Game Designer to guide the evolution of our next major project and help us define the future of player-owned gaming.
Responsibilities
- Lead the design and iteration of core gameplay mechanics to ensure they remain deep, engaging, and scalable.
- Direct live operations, including seasonal content, balance updates, and live events, to maximize long-term player retention.
- Utilize player telemetry, A/B testing, and analytics to make informed design choices that improve the overall user experience.
- Manage and maintain a dynamic in-game economy to ensure fair and sustainable progression for our community.
- Collaborate across departments with engineering, art, marketing, and community teams to align on development goals.
- Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation for game systems, mechanics, and economic models.
Must-haves
- At least 7 years of professional game design experience, specifically with shipped titles in the live-service space such as RPGs, MMOs, or strategy games.
- A strong background in live operations and a proven ability to design updates that improve player retention.
- Proficiency in using game analytics and telemetry tools to refine and optimize game systems.
- Deep expertise in designing progression systems, game balance, and in-game economies.
- Demonstrated leadership skills with experience mentoring and guiding design teams.
- Technical proficiency with industry-standard tools, including SQL for data querying and spreadsheets for complex balancing.
- Fluency in English.
