VSCO is a dedicated platform designed to provide photographers with the essential tools, community, and exposure needed to thrive both creatively and professionally. We are currently looking for a Lead Curator to join our team in a full-time, hybrid capacity. In this role, you will help us evolve our curation practices, elevate emerging voices, and inspire our global community of creators.
Responsibilities
- Architect and scale our curation models by blending human artistic judgment with machine learning systems to modernize our workflows while maintaining creative integrity.
- Design and manage strategic frameworks for curation programs that prioritize quality, diversity, and community engagement to support our broader business objectives.
- Partner closely with our Product, Marketing, and Data teams to ensure our curation initiatives are integrated into company-wide strategies and provide actionable insights into community trends.
Requirements
- At least 7 years of professional experience in photography curation, editorial direction, or creative program leadership, ideally within a digital platform environment.
- A proven track record of building and scaling programs that showcase artistic communities.
- Practical experience working with or providing guidance on algorithmic systems and machine learning.
- Strong operational skills with an entrepreneurial mindset, capable of balancing creative intuition with data-driven decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and maintain strong relationships with global creators.
- Deep expertise in visual culture, photography, and emerging trends across diverse geographies.
What we offer
The base salary for this position ranges from $145,000 to $155,000 USD. In addition to base compensation, we offer a comprehensive benefits package that includes:
