Industrial Design Intern at Landscape Forms

We are Landscape Forms, a leader in the design and manufacturing of commercial outdoor lighting, site furniture, and structures. Our team is dedicated to creating products that balance beauty, functionality, and sustainability. We are looking for a creative and driven individual to join us in Kalamazoo, Michigan, where you will work directly with our design experts to gain real-world experience.

What is this role?

This is a full-time, on-site Industrial Design Internship. It is designed for a student who is currently in their junior or senior year of an Industrial Design program. You will have the opportunity to learn from our professional team while contributing to meaningful projects in a collaborative environment.

What will you do?

• You will dive into our product portfolio to gain a deep understanding of our brand ethos and design standards.
• You will play an active role in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to help develop new design concepts, prototypes, and branding elements.
• You will participate in design critiques to refine aesthetics, ergonomics, and sustainability, while also conducting market research to identify new material initiatives.

To succeed in this role, you should be a logical thinker with excellent communication skills and a strong passion for design. We are looking for someone who brings the following qualifications to the table:

• Current enrollment in an Industrial Design program as a junior or senior.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks or Rhino, along with Keyshot and Adobe CS. Experience with Vizcom AI or Midjourney is considered a plus.
• Practical knowledge of woodworking and prototyping tools, with bonus points if you have experience in MIG or TIG welding.
• Strong sketching and visualization abilities, paired with a foundational understanding of materials, ergonomics, and manufacturing processes.
• Fluency in English.
