Lovepop is dedicated to creating one billion magical moments by blending art and engineering into our unique paper art cards and gifts. Since our appearance on Shark Tank in 2015, we have grown into one of the most successful investments from the show in terms of lifetime revenue. With 18% national brand awareness and over 50 million magical moments delivered to our customers, we are now looking for an exceptional Head of Product Design and Development to help us become the premier online destination for cards.
Key outcomes
- Design Inspiring Products: Create aesthetic, emotionally resonant content that spans humor, pop culture, and traditional themes while maintaining a high standard for illustration and 3D engineering.
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute a cohesive product strategy, including clear objectives for product lanes, pricing, and merchandising that empower our organization to innovate quickly.
- Customer-Centric Development: Utilize customer insights and a clear job-to-be-done framework to ensure all product choices positively impact customer lifetime value.
- Partnership Management: Grow our portfolio of licensed products, such as Disney, Star Wars, and Harry Potter, while identifying new opportunities for brand and designer collaborations.
- Operational Excellence: Oversee the entire product development process, including team metrics, design ROI, and royalty reporting, while ensuring clear communication with executive leadership and board members.
- Team Development: Recruit, mentor, and retain a high-performing team of over 50 designers, fostering a culture of performance and alignment with our core values.
Requirements
- Design Expertise: At least 10 years of relevant experience, including a proven track record of managing creative teams, driving product line expansion, and overseeing merchandising strategy. You should possess a strong background in both art and engineering, along with experience negotiating and managing high-profile licensing agreements.
- Leadership Experience: A minimum of 5 years in a leadership role, with a focus on building motivated, outcomes-oriented teams through effective delegation and direct feedback.
- Financial Acumen: The ability to manage budgets, lead smart investment decisions, and partner with finance teams to ensure accurate P&L management.
- Cultural Alignment: A commitment to our core values of Engineering, Hunger, Magic, and Connection, as well as a belief in prioritizing organizational health and the success of the broader leadership team.
- Language Proficiency: Fluency in English is required.
