Proton began in 2014 when scientists at CERN created Proton Mail, and we have since grown into a global leader in the privacy-tech sector. We provide a suite of open-source, encrypted services including email, VPN, calendar, and file storage to over 100 million users. Our mission is to build a better internet that serves everyone, and we do this without venture capital funding. We are a diverse team of 450 people across 40 nationalities, and we are looking for a visionary leader to help us bring our brand to the mainstream.
About the Role
We are searching for a Head of Brand to join us in a full-time, on-site capacity. In this senior role, you will define the strategy and positioning for our entire ecosystem of products. As we challenge larger organizations, you will lead unconventional initiatives that shape public discourse around privacy and digital rights, ensuring our brand remains a powerful force for good in an era of surveillance capitalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the evolution of our brand strategy and positioning, reporting directly to the VP of Marketing.
- Develop a cohesive brand architecture that strengthens our unified identity while highlighting the unique value of each individual product.
- Manage agency partnerships and internal teams to execute innovative, high-impact campaigns that resonate with mainstream audiences.
Requirements
- Extensive senior-level experience in brand management, strategic planning, or brand strategy, ideally within the tech, privacy, or productivity sectors.
- A proven track record of building challenger brands that successfully provoke debate and capture attention.
- A creative, forward-thinking mindset that balances digital and social channel expertise with a deep understanding of user-centric design.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to collaborate across product teams and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A genuine passion for digital rights and a commitment to disrupting the status quo of the current internet.
Location
This position is based in our offices in Spain or the United Kingdom.
