We are Canopy, a fintech startup dedicated to democratizing access to alternative investments. We operate as a platform that allows anyone to create their own investment syndicates and funds, effectively serving as the Shopify for the investment world. Since our first deal in early 2021, we have grown to support over $100 million in assets under management across 100 portfolio companies, serving a community of more than 1,500 individual investors. We are currently looking for a Founding Product Designer to join our 12-person team on-site in the United States and help us build the future of private investment networks.
Key outcomes
- Establish design as a core business function by collaborating closely with our engineering, operations, legal, and marketing teams.
- Shape the future of our product by bringing a systematic and visual perspective to the Canopy investment experience.
- Develop and maintain a comprehensive design system that ensures consistency across our web and mobile platforms.
- Translate complex financial problems into elegant, intuitive, and delightful user interfaces.
- Mentor our team on design processes, goal setting, and the interpretation of customer feedback.
- Deepen your expertise in the venture financing industry to better inform our long-term design strategy.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of professional experience in product design, UI/UX, or design systems.
- Expert proficiency with industry-standard tools, including Figma, Sketch, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
- A proven ability to create beautiful, high-quality interfaces and design assets.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain complex design tradeoffs to cross-functional team members.
- A founder mentality characterized by a low-ego approach, self-sufficiency, and a willingness to handle any task necessary for the team to succeed.
- Experience using prototyping as a primary method for communicating and testing design solutions.
- A history of delivering impactful products that resonate with users.
- Fluency in English.
