We’re Carbon Robotics, the team behind the LaserWeeder™-a precision weeding system that combines computer vision and AI to eliminate weeds with millimeter accuracy. Designed in Seattle and built in Detroit, our technology gives growers reliable control over their schedules while cutting labor needs and chemical use. Profiled in the Wall Street Journal and Forbes, we’re on track to become a major player in the fast-growing ag-tech space.
What is this role?
This is a full-time, on-site Senior Field Trials Specialist position based in the United States. You’ll spend the majority of your time traveling to farms to evaluate how our LaserWeeder performs in real-world conditions and to translate those findings into clear, actionable insights for our customers and internal teams.
What will you do?
- Design and run field trials that measure the LaserWeeder’s impact on labor, yield, and chemical reduction, then turn the results into cost-benefit analyses and financial models.
- Collect, clean, and interpret performance data, ensuring every dataset meets our standards for accuracy and reliability before it reaches stakeholders.
- Prepare concise reports and presentations that explain complex findings to sales teams, growers, and cross-functional partners so they can make informed decisions quickly.
What makes you a great fit?
You hold a bachelor’s degree in plant sciences, agricultural economics, agricultural business, or a related field; a master’s degree is preferred. You bring hands-on familiarity with farm machinery, precision-agriculture tools, and data-analysis software such as Excel and statistical packages. Strong written and verbal communication skills allow you to translate technical results into plain language, and you’re comfortable working independently while collaborating with sales, engineering, and university partners. Experience conducting cost-effectiveness studies or financial modeling in an agricultural setting is a plus, as is prior work with ag-machinery analysis.
What's in it for you?
We offer a base salary range of $88,000–$106,000 USD, along with pre-IPO stock options and a comprehensive benefits package that includes fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents, life and long-term disability coverage, a 401(k) plan, flexible PTO, pet insurance, and commuter benefits. You’ll also join a mission-driven team that values innovation, open communication, and an inclusive culture where every voice matters.
