About the Role
We are looking for a Junior Exterior Designer to join us on a full-time, on-site basis. In this role you will help shape the visual identity of our FF and FX vehicle lines, translating early ideas into refined exterior surfaces that balance aesthetics, aerodynamics, and brand character.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate initial sketches into feasible 3D proposals that define body shapes, surface forms, and graphic elements for upcoming models.
- Lead clay-model development and oversee vehicle prototyping to ensure design intent is preserved through physical execution.
- Research emerging automotive trends, materials, and technologies, then package findings into clear presentations that guide product and design decisions.
Requirements
To be successful you will bring:
- A bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design or a closely related field.
- At least one year of professional experience in exterior or automotive design.
- Strong sketching ability paired with proven 3D modeling skills.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted design workflows and the capacity to guide CAD modelers effectively.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and the Adobe Creative Suite, plus visualization tools such as KeyShot or VRED.
- Proficiency in Blender, Sub-D, or similar polygonal modeling software is highly valued.
- Clear, confident communication-both written and verbal-along with analytical and conceptual thinking that connects automotive technology to broader consumer electronics and lifestyle trends.
Location
This position is based on-site in the United States.
Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this role is $75,000 – $85,000, depending on experience.
